After 16 years in the comfortable and dare we say “funky” old house in Downtown Vancouver, Fleming Creative Group and its three divisions (DfR, Fleming Design and Switch Interactive) were chugging along nicely, but bursting out of our 3500 square feet. The day someone came into our office and said “Hello, we’re the new owners of the building and we’ve got plans,” we knew it was time to make a move.

Our new space has more than double the square footage, a huge lunch room/kitchen instead of a closed-in back porch, a library, an actual server room instead of a converted bathroom, a view of the city over-looking a park, and half of one floor with space to grow into... what a concept. Best of all, air conditioning. Our old “funky” space could get, well... kinda funky! We think we made the right move. In fact, we liked the building so much we bought it!

Moving in on a Friday and up and running the next Monday was no small task for our combined staff of 30. Workload and partners who fancy themselves “handymen” has meant that we’re not quite ready to expose our new space to the world... Rome wasn’t built in a day. However, a promised and long overdue “house warming” event is in the works for later this summer – while we can still brag about the sunset view from the patio on the third floor.
